October 2010

Hello Gill and staff

Just letting you know how I am getting on.

I go for long walks in the country every day and I have made a new friend called Jack he lives down the road from me with my families son but      comes to see me almost everyday. Jacks old daddy died so he became part of our family and I love it when he visits.

Jack and I in the garden on a foggy morning. Jack and I didn't start out as friends,it happened gradually with         us meeting up for walks and he came to my home and bought me presents when he visited. We both like snacks but Jack eats slower than me and I have to wait for him to finish before we can play.

Mummy says we are both very nosey, but we just like to know what is going       on around us.

Dear Gyll and everyone at Three Counties,

Well Masie Moo has been with us for nearly a year and we thought you might like to see some pictures of our beautiful girl. We cannot imagine our life without her now, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to be very devoted dog owners.
On reflection it took about 6 months for her to be truly settled. Various milestones have been reached in that time... the first time watching   her go up stairs is one in particular which was one of the funniest things we have ever seen, first visit to a beach, first bar-b-q, ( one of  Maisies favourite days ever ) to name but a few.
For anyone thinking about getting a Doberman we cannot recomend one highly enough. The Moo has the sweetest, most gentle nature. Clever, loyal and a a big lap dog who loves her bed and a cuddle more than anything in the world.
Wishing you all the very best.
Jenny, Sean and Maisie Moo

Dear all at Three Counties Dog Rescue

Just wanted to take the time to thank you for helping us to find Roxy. She is a lovely dog that has found it easy to fit into out home and become part of the family despite her difficult start.
She has a willing nature and has found it easy to get used to living in the house. In fact it is difficult to get her away from the fire and TV. My husband has always wanted a rottweiler but I was not so sure, we were used to a lab cross. We spent time at the Kennells getting to know her before bringing her home and she is such a sweet and gentle dog we could not have asked for more.
She loves to go for walks and mixes well with other dogs, other dog owners have been keen to get to know her and help her to gain in confidance. This has resulted in a well rounded dog we are able to take anywhere!

I can not believe it has only been 4 months sine she came home!

Thanks again for the opportunity to have Roxy in our life!

Hi Jackie,

Just thought you would like an update on how Reef is getting on.

We've had him for over a year now and he settled in to the house within minutes! he's definately one of the family now and when we're out and about with him a lot of people stop us because he is soooo handsome! and because they want "Staffy cuddles" he's even been on holiday with us in the caravan and has been paddling in the sea and had lots of long country walks... which he loves! he gets on with any dog that approaches him and is always in a playful mood.

This summer my work held it's first companion dog show so i had to enter Reef into some of the classes. the pictures show how he got on! he came first in the "Best Cross Breed" and also "Best dog owned by a employee"

We couldn't be more happier with Reef... Thank you all for taking the time and effort to keep him safe untill we could bring him home! i just hope more people will give dogs like reef a second chance.

Kirsty + Gareth Jones (and of course Reef!)

Gyll

Well it's been 4 1/2 years since we got the George the saluki cross.  When we got him, we renamed him Fraggle. He quickly settled in with us and became a member of the family, displaying typical lurcher tendencies, he demanded his own sofa and spent most of his time asleep! One year after we got him, we moved to Cheltenham in Gloucester and Fraggle got a girlfriend called Dizzy, although she pesters him to play more than he'd like, they really love each other.  There have been a few problems with cats when they have entered the garden and he has attacked them, but other than that he has been the perfect dog.

His biggest adventure happened this year when he and Dizzy flew in luxury to California.  To them it is as though nothing has changed although they get to play on the beach a lot more and Fraggle gets many many complements everywhere he goes as Americans have never seen a dog like him before.  Living up to his superiority complex, his local nickname is the Queen's dog!

thank you for such a wonderful dog!

Hope you are all well!

Just thought we would send you some pictures of Maggie and her new friends! She is settling in very well and loves playing with Rocky and Sandy who she follows around everywhere!

She now has her own spot on the sofa and loves to stretch out and sleep (thats her in the picture upside down!). The only time we manage to get pictures is when she's asleep as she doesn't stand still for 2 minutes!

She has settled in very well and her coat is now jet black, as you can see from the first few photos her hair has all grown back - some of the photos are from when she first came to us and you can see the difference.

Her character has really started to come out and is she's not bouncing around the house she's curled up on the sofa having cuddles!

Thank you very much for letting us adopt Maggie, she has been a lovely addition to our family.

Will be in touch soon!

Best Wishes

Rachel, Darren, Rocky, Sandy & Maggie

Dear Gyll and Staff

Well it has now been a year since we travelled up to collect Eva (Glen's little sister) and bring her down to Hampshire and into our family.  From the moment she entered our home she has been an absolute delight.  She and Max our other GSD adore each other and play together all the time.  They quite often instigate a game of chase with each other or one of them will go get a 'tuggy toy' out of their toy box and have a game of tug~of~war with each  other.  That's always pretty fun to watch....you see Max weighs 42kgs and Eva weighs 29kgs....but he always flumps down and makes himself a 'dead weight' and then gets dragged along the floor by 'little mini moo Eva'....lol  !!

As you may recall she has been coming to our local BAGSD (British Association for German Shepherd Dogs) training club since we have had her and she has already sailed through, winning first place, in both progress tests she has completed so far.  She has taken part in other Companion Dog shows, recently gaining 2nd place in an obedience ring, in which I'm chuffed to pieces!...She has also been a part of our Agility Dog Demo team and has taken part in Club demos at various summer fetes and locations, in which she was superb.

Every day she and Max enjoy their 2 hours out on the Army sports field in Aldershot....we spend 2/3rds of the time playing ball and 1/3rd of the time obedience training.....by the time we get home they're ready to flop down and have a sleep...it's at this point that Eva turns into a 'flip top dog'.  You see, she loves to flip upside down along the front of our sofa and have a good long snooze...daft thing!....

When I train with her she is so enthusiastic and eager to please and really does learn very quickly too ...I enjoy training with both her and Max so much that I am now undertaking the BAGSD instructor's course myself!

I hope her brother settled in his new home as well as she has here.

kind regards

Hi Jackie/Gyll

They're running rings round us, but we're still here!
Amber is settling well and is quite mischievious. She has put some weight on and we have found a few things to tempt her. The pictures were taken at the Norfolk house, and both of them appear to be at home there too! Amber was bored with Wimbledon, as you can see. She loves her comfy beds and i spend a lot of time at the sewing machine.

Charlie - well, what can you say? He's grown a lot and is full of trouble, but can be good. Does well at classes (except with me last week - Sue usually takes him). Very good at taking the washing off the line now. Got him sheared last week and we all thought we'd got a different dog as the real shape underneath was completely different from the wooly thing we started with. He behaved well, considering the time it took to get the wool off, and hopefully, the next time, he will get a rather more stylish cut.

Hope all is well and that you are managing to find homes for lots of them. We couldn't get to the show as we had a previous commitment, which was a shame.

Hi Three Counties,

I am having a great time with the Hardy's they are great fun! I love fetching the ball for Alice. Edward and Alice are my best friends, I am glad I am with them. I have made friends with loads of dogs. I love Friday nights because I get to snuggle up on the sofa and fall asleep in front of the fire.
When they go away I stay with Harry's mum and dad- I really like them because they are always happy to have me and when it is night I snuggle up with them and fall asleep. Also when it is bed time they take me to my basket and put my blanket over me and then I can fall asleep in about 10minutes, also Harry and Katy do but not Alice and Edward because they are in bed fast asleep all ready.
They decided my birthday was on the 1st March. When it was Alice's birthday Edward got a present as they always do when it is one of their birthdays, anyway Alice wanted me to have a present as well so I got a bone- which was very nice- YUM YUM! In the morning's I go into Alice's bedroom and she gives me a cuddle in bed.
I will write to you soon
Ollie

Hi to all at Three Counties

Just to let you know how well I am, I have a bed in the room and in the kitchen (got rid of that cage), I am such a good girl no accidents now and I go for at least one walk a day. The rest of the time, I'm playing in the garden and trying how to work out the best way to get the football and the tennis balls!!

I haven't eaten any shoes but I keep trying, I did manage to eat Amy's spellings.

I'm still a bit nervous about meeting new men but I love everyone else.

Lots of love

April 2010
 Hi Gyll

Just thought we would drop you a quick email to give you an update on pebbles (Jack Russell) who we adapted last year from you.
She is such a happy dog and has become a loved member of our family. She just wants to be with you both sitting at home in the evening or sharing the bed at night! For a small dog walks are a great source of enjoyment to her and living in the country she gets plenty of them.
We have got a passport for her and this year she will join us on our summer holiday when we go abroad with the motorhome.
We are constantly recommending friends who are interested in getting a dog to get in touch with you and we really hope things are going well for you.

Huge thanks to Three Counties Rescue for Pebbles

 Kindest Regards
 Dave & Maggie

Hiya,
Just wanted to drop you a line and say how well Dammi has settled into the family. He's such an affectionate dog and were not sure what he loves most, sleeping, his cuddles (he thinks he's a lap dog) or playing with his favourite toy which strangely is a burst (wasn't to begin with) basket ball (yuk!).

We would like to say to any of the people who visit the 3 counties looking for a dog, don't be put of by the media portrayal of some breeds, treat animal as individuals as we would people. Appearances can be deceptive.

Here's a pic of Dammi being at his most fearsome and guarding the house! with his best friend in his arms lol

P.S he's eating for England and so has filled out
