Hi Jackie/Gyll

They're running rings round us, but we're still here!
Amber is settling well and is quite mischievious. She has put some weight on and we have found a few things to tempt her. The pictures were taken at the Norfolk house, and both of them appear to be at home there too! Amber was bored with Wimbledon, as you can see. She loves her comfy beds and i spend a lot of time at the sewing machine.

Charlie - well, what can you say? He's grown a lot and is full of trouble, but can be good. Does well at classes (except with me last week - Sue usually takes him). Very good at taking the washing off the line now. Got him sheared last week and we all thought we'd got a different dog as the real shape underneath was completely different from the wooly thing we started with. He behaved well, considering the time it took to get the wool off, and hopefully, the next time, he will get a rather more stylish cut.

Hope all is well and that you are managing to find homes for lots of them. We couldn't get to the show as we had a previous commitment, which was a shame.
Peta & Sue

Hi Three Counties,

I am having a great time with the Hardy's they are great fun! I love fetching the ball for Alice. Edward and Alice are my best friends, I am glad I am with them. I have made friends with loads of dogs. I love Friday nights because I get to snuggle up on the sofa and fall asleep in front of the fire.
When they go away I stay with Harry's mum and dad- I really like them because they are always happy to have me and when it is night I snuggle up with them and fall asleep. Also when it is bed time they take me to my basket and put my blanket over me and then I can fall asleep in about 10minutes, also Harry and Katy do but not Alice and Edward because they are in bed fast asleep all ready.
They decided my birthday was on the 1st March. When it was Alice's birthday Edward got a present as they always do when it is one of their birthdays, anyway Alice wanted me to have a present as well so I got a bone- which was very nice- YUM YUM! In the morning's I go into Alice's bedroom and she gives me a cuddle in bed.
I will write to you soon
Ollie

Hi to all at Three Counties

Just to let you know how well I am, I have a bed in the room and in the kitchen (got rid of that cage), I am such a good girl no accidents now and I go for at least one walk a day. The rest of the time, I'm playing in the garden and trying how to work out the best way to get the football and the tennis balls!!

I haven't eaten any shoes but I keep trying, I did manage to eat Amy's spellings.

I'm still a bit nervous about meeting new men but I love everyone else.

Lots of love

Charlie and Amber in their new home (May 2010)

April 2010

 Hi Gyll

Just thought we would drop you a quick email to give you an update on pebbles (Jack Russell) who we adapted last year from you.
She is such a happy dog and has become a loved member of our family. She just wants to be with you both sitting at home in the evening or sharing the bed at night! For a small dog walks are a great source of enjoyment to her and living in the country she gets plenty of them.
We have got a passport for her and this year she will join us on our summer holiday when we go abroad with the motorhome.
We are constantly recommending friends who are interested in getting a dog to get in touch with you and we really hope things are going well for you.

Huge thanks to Three Counties Rescue for Pebbles

 Kindest Regards

Hiya,
Just wanted to drop you a line and say how well Dammi has settled into the family. He's such an affectionate dog and were not sure what he loves most, sleeping, his cuddles (he thinks he's a lap dog) or playing with his favourite toy which strangely is a burst (wasn't to begin with) basket ball (yuk!).

We would like to say to any of the people who visit the 3 counties looking for a dog, don't be put of by the media portrayal of some breeds, treat animal as individuals as we would people. Appearances can be deceptive.

Here's a pic of Dammi being at his most fearsome and guarding the house! with his best friend in his arms lol

P.S he's eating for England and so has filled out

Enclosed are pictures of two of Nala's kittens we adopted, their new names are Tiger and Timmy and they're very happy in their new home and are always up to mischief!

Thank you

Hi Gyll

Attached is a photo of a very happy and contented cat, after playing with his toys. At the moment he's on my knee, all he wants is love and cuddles which he gets plenty of.

You can see we are the best of friends and I allow Henry share my basket during the day. This is my bedroom and I have a settee, two armchairs, my basket and a comfy floor to sleep on. thanks for looking after me.

Amy

Dear Gyll and all at Three counties,
Thank you for finding me a new home, I am settling in very well but I do need to learn a few more manners!!! My new Mum and  Dad think I am lovely. I love my walks and playing ball, even though I don't always give it back, but my best and most favorite thing to do is go swimming, I don't mind if the water is clean or dirty as long as it is wet!!
I am really loving life in my new home and I will stay in touch with you to let you know my progress, my mum says she will send some photo's of me next time.

Lots of love from  SID at Castle Bytham. xxxxxx

Dear Gyll and staff at 3 Counties

Just a little not to let you know how little 'Eva the Diva' is settling in.....in a word, fantastic!  We had fun over the weekend juggling dogs from house to garden as Eva was still in season.  We did however have both Eva and Max lying down asleep in our lounge together with us on Sat and Sunday evening and they were fine.

She has been a little Angel...she is very friendly and has met countless dogs of all sizes whilst out on her walks up to and around the park, without any problems at all.  She and Max hit it off instantly...they are always kissing each other and never far apart.  Max was castrated yesterday so no more worries with them being together lol.

She travelled really well back here on Saturday...as quiet as anything.  She has been equally as good at bedtime too.  The first two nights she was by herself in my kitchen/dining room for obvious reasons and last night she spent it cuddled up with my 17year old daughter on her bed...little minx lol.

Took a while to get the attached pics today because she doesn't sit still long enough but we will work on that with her training.

Anyway all is well in Eva world, she is a little sweetie and has made herself very much at home. Bless her!

regards

Gyll,

I would like to say thank you very much for letting me adopt Basil 12 months ago. He has made a big difference to my life. My health and mobility have improved and he gives me something to look forward too everyday. It was nice to see him with Tiffy, you can see where he gets his good looks from.

Again thank you for letting an older lady have a "spark" put back into her life.

Thank you so much for letting us adopt first Freddie (greyhound) who we got in April 2003, then Misty (shepherd cross) in Oct 2004 and lastly Basil (jack russell cross) just recently in March 20009. They are all wonderful dogs and they give us much joy and affection. Our lives would not be the same without them. thanks for all your help and support.

thank you
Debbie, Jim and Amy

Dear Gyll and all the Staff

Just wanted to let you know, and anybody who might be considered adopting a rescue dog, how thrilled we are with our beautiful Ebony, a Staffie cross that we were so fortunate to rehome a few weeks ago.

Ebony had a poor start in life but that hasn’t stopped her being a loving, loyal and happy little dog. She gives us so much joy every day with her beautiful and fun temperament. She adapted to being in a domestic environment immediately which was very surprising considering the length of time she had been in kennels. Staffies seem to have a bad image and it would appear nobody wanted to take her home, until we came along.

Everyday, Ebony is learning something new and never ceases to amaze us with her intelligence. She can be boisterous, most dogs can at a young age, but she knows her limits and tries very hard not to overstep the mark. She loves people and other dogs and loves to play ‘chase’ when she meets other dogs on our walks, but always comes back when called.

If you are looking for a loyal companion, I would definitely recommend considering a Staffie. It’s a great pity that a few rogue dogs have given the breed a bad reputation. Anybody that knows what they are truly like will agree. The affection they show you is almost overwhelming and their favourite past time, seems to be having a cuddle and a fuss.

With grateful thanks for all the hard work you all do at Three Counties Rescue.

With best wishes

Lesley Warnes

A letter from one of Three Counties former dogs, Guinness, was received very recently saying how happy he was with his family and new life. This letter is very imaginative and shows just how clever rescue dogs can be! More importantly how special and loved they are by their new owners.

More about Guinness will be available later in the year. For the time being we have put a picture of the handsome man for you all to see.

Dear Aunty Gyll,

Just a quick line to let you know I am really happy here and just discovered a new plaything......SNOW.
I love to play in the snow. I have asked dad to send you new pictures of me and Mr Grumpy in the snow.

Love and Thanks

Belle

It's been nearly two years since Belle came to us from Three Counties. She has grown into a beautiful and loyal companion to us and especially to Copper. We cannot thank you enough for allowing her to become one of our family.

Many, Many Thanks

Bill, Sharon and Copper

Gyll,

Thank you for allowing us to adopt firstly Bubba and then Mutley, we couldn't have wished for two better dogs. They get on very well and Bubba has taught Mutley how to play!! Please see some of the photos where they
are having lots of fun!!

 Thank you,

 Marcus, Jane and Family.

Dear Gyll

Hi Gyll and the team

I just wanted to send you an update on how Noodle (Cleo) and Joey are getting on, we have had Noodle for just over a year now and she is the most wonderful dog!  We love her to pieces and her and Joey are firm friends.

They are both very happy and we wanted to share a couple of photos with you.

Many thanks for all you do

Gyll,

Just to let you know that Fin is fitting in very well here, he has been for some training and is due some more in the next couple of months. The cat situation is very slow but progressing and I think we will crack it this year. In the picture with 2 dogs Finn is the one on the right. As you can see he is looking gorgeous (and filling out a bit). He has a loving and fun character and tries really hard to be a good boy (not always successfully but he does try).

Alison

 Dear Gyll

Thought you would like to see how well Syd ( known to you as Freddie )  is looking — he has been with us 14 months now and is just a joy to be with. Here you see him sitting his favourite seat with as many
cushions as possible - He is so good and has been very easy to train  — good on and off the lead and you really can take him any were. We  have just come back from the forest of Dean which he enjoyed — he is
now a well travelled dog and goes often to the Norfolk coast were we  have a boat but like me prefers to stay on dry land and let Mark do  the sailing.

Thank you once again for all you do for rescue dogs like Syd
 best wishes

Angela also sent in a picture of  print she made of Syd whom she considers to be the "Best Dog in the World"

  HI,

I am Barney The Old English Sheep dog. I have been with my new owner Chris for about 5 months. As you can see from the photos I have put on a considerable amount  of weight and my fur has grown quite long, it had grown that long I had to have it cut around my eyes so I could see where I was going! I get taken for two long walks a day. I am not entirely sure about baths but I don't mind being brushed afterwards. Thanks to Gyll and the Three Counties Rescue I have a wonderful home where I get spoilt rotten.

Dear Gyll

Tony first fostered Friday in 2002 when she was skin and bone and terrified of everything. Now she is a healthy loving dog who is such a pleasure to know. She is friends with the whole world, especially her little brother Beano and one of their favourite occupations is lying onour bed together!! Although she has arthritis now, this is controlled by regular injections and has never stopped her from wanting to play with her dad - especially when I'm trying to watch Corrie!!!!!! She is the most loving girl and is exceptionally good with children. She enriches our lives daily and no-one should ever hesitate when thinking about either fostering or adopting a dog from you and the rewards are enormous.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for the future.

Love from Fiona, Tony, Friday & Beano

Gyll,
Here are some pictures of Bubba as promised. Thank you for allowing us to have such a fantastic dog, he is full of energy and life and I really cannot understand why anyone would want to part with such a great friend who has very quickly become part of the family.
Many thanks, Jane Moss.

Hi Just letting you see I have settled in with my new family and I am very happy, we also have chickens now which I can play with. Love Darwin

Hi Darwin has taken over the house and really does think he is a big dog, he keeps Dug and Jed on the go all the time, and us, but can't imagine life without him. Love Mark and Alison.
