ADOPTION CONDITIONS - Extracted from adoption form. The above dog will be entrusted to your care on the definite understanding you read and agree to the following conditions and those on the reverse of this form:
1. Should you, for any reason, be unable to keep the dog it must be returned to the society and must NOT, on any account , be passed into other hands or be destroyed. Seven days notice is required where possible. 2. The dog is to be suitably and regularly fed and exercised. It must not, under any circumstances be kept outside or chained up. 3. The dog should wear a collar with a name and address of the owner attached. It must not be allowed to roam unattended. 4. When old enough (usually at around 8 months of age) all bitches must be spayed and all dogs neutered. The society will agree or make the necessary arrangements.
ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS APPLYING TO ADOPTION (As on reverse of form) Three Counties Dog Rescue accepts no responsibility as to description, condition or health of the animal taken and gives no warranty of any kind expressed or implied. Information concerning the habits and past history of the animal is passed on by Three Counties to the adopter in good faith. This is based on statements made by the previous owner, however, and there is no guarantee of reliability. Three Counties is unable, therefore, to accept liability for any consequences whatever resulting from events attributable to the failure to give information or the transmission of wrong information. The animal is believed to be in normal health on leaving the care of Three Counties Dog Rescue except where specific conditions have been made known to the new owner. We regret that Three Counties is unable to accept liability for any expenses arising from sickness developed subsequently. In cases where an animal is known to possess a specific condition, the presence of which is notified to the new owner, the responsibility for the cost of future treatment shall be solely that of the new owner, unless agreed in writing to the contrary. Attention is drawn to the possible liability of those taking animals for damage or injury they may cause to third parties or their property. In particular liability may arise in negligence under Law which also imposes a general liability on the keeper of the dog for causing death or injury to livestock. The possibility of an action for nuisance should also be recognised. Three Counties strongly advises all new owners to arrange appropriate insurance cover against the risks referred to above and also the cost of veterinary treatment.
